Low on activity -- WE RAISE AGAIN

Hello there..

The recent activities in the community have almost reached to their bottom. May be financial crisis could be among the reasons, but strictly speaking, everyone is behind their survival in jobs. I however came out by half of the crisis, thanks to my spouse for joining hands to walk along side of me for rest of my life. I would take pleasure to inform by this blog that we are on the way to collaborate the srisayana's in the world through web. The glimpse of it includes; an active blog where users can register, post and comment , chat window, jobs portal, user search, matrimony and more... We are struggling a lot to create this as we don't have a dedicated team that is helpful. Help by any means is highly appreciated.

AMALGAMATIION OF TAPPER COMMUNITIES

 

India is the birthplace of many castes. It is also home to many other castes and cults founded outside, but who found patronage here. The different schools of thought have rise to various caste movements, reform movements, and philosophical schools of thought.
As per the G.O.MS.NO.16 dated.19th june, 1997-- BACKWARD CLASSES WELFARE (A1)DEPT.- Amalgamation of several Tapper communities in the state- under one name 'GOUD' in existing list of Backward Classes- Orders - Issued.

Sri Gouthu Latchanna, Honorary President of Andhra Pradesh Gouda Sangam in his representation dated 11.05.1995 addressed to the Government has stated that there are various subsects of tapping community such as Goud, Settibalija, Ediga and Srisayana in different parts of the state and that Andhra Pradesh Gouda Sangham has passed a resolution that all sub-sects of the tapping community should be placed at one entry in the existing state backward class list and requested the Government to issue orders accordingly. The Government referred the said representation to Andhra Pradesh Commission for Backward Classes for advice, u/s 9(2) of Backward Class commission. The Backward Class Commission furnished its report to Government on
3-12-'96.

Government after careful examination of the report of Andhra Pradesh Commission for Backward Classes and accepted the advice of the Commission and directed that the existing entry No.4 of Group-B of the existing list of Backward Classes be read as "GOUD" (Ediga, Gouda,(Gamalla), Kalalea, Goundla, Settibalija of Visakhapatnam, East Godawari, West Godawari and Krishna Districts and Srisayana(Segidi).

Traditional occupations

The Gouds originally prospered around the Godavari River. The Goud community adopted alcoholic beverage production and sale as their trade. This trade is believed to be a gift from God. The people who serve toddy are considered God-like (Somanath, Madhusudhana, and Gandharvas).
Gouds also support themselves in farming and warrior profession which is a generalised trade being followed by all communities. From Kshatriyas to Schedule castes are allowed to do cultivation. Warrior position is also given to all communities in different positions. Before the British came every community has a specific trade to do.
Gouds prospered during Eastern chalukya empire( goud kings), Kakatiya empire( Goud kings ) and Vijaya nagar empire ( Golla/Yadav kings).During these empires, all communities have a good respect in society. After the British came, some trades like (warrior positions) are lost and some trades like hand loom, fishing, animal herding etc have become unprofitable. Due to the British Agricultural Revolution, only farming become more profitable.
A substantial body of educated Gouds constitute captains of the Information Technology enterprises and have established India's largest software outfits like Infosys and HCL Technologies.In Telangana, Gouds are mainly found in the brewing/liquor industry.

Website Services Meeting

Hi All !!

Hope all are doing Well...

A meeting to be Held on April 3rd, 2011 regarding the finalization of our website. List of services and the membership details shall be discussed and finalized on that day. The meeting will be held @ SriSayana Sankshema Seva Sangam, Secunderabad in Sri. Kola Gnaneswararao's residence. Those who have interest to participate or suggest may attend the meeting.
